Campwin Beach sits between Sarina Beach and Grasstree Beach, approximately 12 minutes drive to Sarina and 30 minutes to Mackay. It was first established as a weekend getaway with many local farmers having a 'beach shack' for their holidays. Today Campwin Beach offers a relaxing beachside lifestyle with a private stretch of sand that is frequented by the locals for a stroll or to explore the rock pools. There is a boat ramp which enters the protected waters of Castrades Inlet and a public playground with picnic area at the beach. School buses service the area running to the local primary and secondary schools.
Campwin Beach lookout offers a great vantage point to take in the views of Castrades Inlet, Grasstree Beach and the open waters of the Coral Sea. At night, the lights of the ship loaders at Hay Point and Dalrymple Bay as well as the coal ships off the coast, turn the ocean into a faux cityscape.
