Spanning from the outskirts of Mackay west to Eungella, the Pioneer Valley is made up of a number of towns and small farming communities of both cane and lifestyle farms. The area is a well known tourist destination for its famed Finch Hatton Gorge, Eungella National Park, Greenmount Homestead and recreational camping grounds throughout the area.
Marian town centre offers locals the convenience of a large supermarket and specialty stores and is home to one of the largest Sugar Mills in the region as well as the local State Primary School. Nearby Mirani homes the local State High School, Library, Museum and an olympic size Public Swimming Pool. Other towns in the valley include Pinnacle, Finch Hatton and of course Eungella.
Eungella was previously a large Dairy Farming area sitting at the top of the Eungella Range. Residents enjoy a laid back lifestyle amongst a large rain forest area either living here on a permanent basis or as more of a weekend getaway/holiday destination.
